Shrewsbury School, founded in 1552, continues to provide education today as one of England’s esteemed institutions. The school boasts important figures among its alumni, such as Charles Darwin. The campus is located in the town of Shrewsbury, which is 3.5 hours away from London.
Students participating in the summer program organized by Discovery Summer at the Shrewsbury School campus can receive education not only in English classes but also in areas such as tennis, golf, horseback riding, adventure sports, dance, and coding.
In all of Discovery Summer’s programs, students have the opportunity to practice with British students who attend post-class activities.
Courses
Students attending Discovery Summer at Shrewsbury School choose between the English + General Activity and English + Sports/Technology Academy programs. They are placed in classes based on the English exam they take on the program start date. The education is provided at levels ranging from A1 to C1. Students who wish to do so can participate in the Trinity exam for an additional fee on either July 16 or July 30. After classes, students have the opportunity to practice with English students who participate in the organized activities.
English + General Activity
Within the program, 20 hours of English education are provided per week. In addition to English classes, workshops such as British Quiz, Code Crafters, Nature ID Challenge, and TED talks are organized.

English + Sports/Technology Academy
Within the program, there are 15 hours of English classes and 12 hours of tennis, golf, horseback riding, dance, adventure sports, or technology lessons per week.
In the technology program, students use the Python programming language on Raspberry Pi to design a robot arm, Rube Goldberg machine, voice-controlled assistant, and various games. Students can choose a different topic for each week they participate in the program.

Accommodation
Students stay in rooms on the school campus, with accommodations ranging from 1 to 5 individuals per room, on a full board basis. The showers and toilets are shared on each floor and are provided in sufficient quantities. Wi-Fi service is available in common areas of the school at specified hours.
Activities
In the afternoons, various social and sports activities are organized at school, including football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, table tennis, yoga, badminton, dance, cricket, karaoke, disco, theater, art, etc.
Weekly full-day and half-day excursions are also arranged to different destinations such as Birmingham, Chester Zoo, Liverpool, and Drayton Manor Theme Park.
Airport Transfer
The school provides free transfer services to/from Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester Airports at the specified days and times.
